Saudade dos anos 90.....
Wow!! Excellent reception. Well done. Love the Moo Mik commercial.
The thing I loved about international radio, is that you could get various views on an important topic. Now, everyone is living inside their own information bubbles.
Muito bonito tenho um abc canarinho está com 64 anos funcionando normal s.w. cx de madeira tb valvulado....... meu (xodo)
It was still the magic of me being in a bed and hearing what someone else was saying or doing across one or two oceans about something happening in the world.

They stopped somewhere in the late 2000s

MW listening memories from the 70s and 80s.
Thank you harre67; That's a great selection. Just one thing; the past-tense of broadcast is broadcast!
Vila i frid Ralph
a totally eerie reminder of faded memories, of family members now mostly dead…
Despite all of the wondrous and amazing communication technology of today, shortwave has an allure. The shortwave of a few decades ago sounds amazing. It's so simple. Sitting with the radio, searching for stations, keeping a log. Not knowing what you'll find. No need for the computer and an Internet connection. In case the power goes out, switch to batteries and continue cruising the dial.
Saudações DXistas. Saudades de uma época de ouro da Ondas Curtas (SW), lá se vão 50 anos de muitas amizades e QSL's. Abraço a todos DXistas do mundo. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
That’s the BBC World Service theme at 06:45. I remember Radio Tirana’s interval theme well, and how it interfered with medium wave listening in the early 1970’s. I had Radio Luxembourg in mind.
Muitas saudades das escutas de OC. Bo
I am Japanese. I listened to it very nostalgically. thank you.

In Northern California, Radio Nederland came in quite strong....usually on the 49 meter band.

a little supplement to the halland tunnel programme. Eng. Rhoca Gil. Rhoca gil is produced by Rhone-Poulenc (nothing to do with the composer) this company merged with the mentioned - Hoecst AG -Various Hoechst factories were bombed during the 2nd world war and were the oil company for the 2nd world war. In addition to that, they were also sentenced for testing painful drugs on concentration camp prisoners during the 2nd World War - After the war, company after company - or joint stock company was connected to this large German wealthy chemical manufacturers in many countries - such as in Sweden - it is Santi Synthelabo which provides vaccine products and other hospital products. General Electric co- BASF - AGFA - all are connected to the large company Various HOECHST - yes, it is also ok to mention - the European Round Table - which has many members and works closely with the EU Commission - (as the only ) otherwise the EU Commission is not entitled to any other work than precisely this. So the design of our open market. The purchase and handling of the toxic substance for tunnels to stop ground water penetrating the tunnel is Sweden's own fault. Finally, I would like to say - that there is zero information on the internet about the poisoning from Rhoca Gil. Who made the purchase? and at all - why didn't the Swedes follow the instructions or the user manual? I wonder about. but thanks for sending it. here at 19.00 and 20.00 Sunday. November 20, 2022. from FM 991. strange this.
thanks so much for sharing these relics!
Radio Norway gives me the chills whenever I hear the interval signal. Indelibly etched into my brain after so many year!😉
Yes, Me too, and a nice station to listen to, I recall.
Me too too!!!
This takes me back to Birmingham, England DXing as a teenage boy on a valve radio my mum gave me. After I graduated I enjoyed a 30 year career as a radio presenter in the UK. I remember this Ident. It helped create the magic of radio for me which led to my subsequent infatuation with the medium. Thanks for sharing.
I always liked the old one and I don't know why the replaced it with this spooky one.

me gusta la radio de onda corta.
i like sw radio
Saludos desde México.
greetings from México.
Apparently this is where the Swedish rhapsody got the interval signal from.
Oh yes really nice to hear this one again, yet another interval signal that holds a lot of memories for me and one of the first interval signals I ever heard
Can anyone tell me the brand and model of the radio in the still photo?
Radionette. Model: Junior, made in Norway.
@@harre67 Thanks. My father bought one in Iceland. I think mid 1950's. I used it occasionally until 1967, when my father bought a Sony TR-1000 for me, while visiting Japan on business. The radionette broke sometime in the 1980's and he threw it away. He wasn't into shortwave DXing, like I was.
